Springwood Wedding / Janna and Casey

Janna and Casey were married and had their fabulous wedding at Springwood Conference Center in Verona, which is about 30 minutes east of Pittsburgh.  It was a beautiful day for a spring wedding in the outside amphitheater that Springwood offers.  Immediately after the ceremony Janna and Casey had their first dance on the stone patio surrounded by friends and family. The party moved inside glass atrium and later a tent for dancing.  A clever detail included tulip vases with guest’s table cards.  At the end of the night the couple was sent off through a cloud of bubbles.

Rob & Justin | Sixth Presbyterian Church

A former colleague at the Post Gazette asked me to photograph his wedding to his long time boyfriend this past May.  It was at the Sixth Presbyterian Church in Squirrel Hill,  also known as Mister Roger’s church.   It was a touching ceremony of two devoted souls.  As much as I loved the ceremony a favorite part of the day was the breakfast and the getting ready that was such a delight to witness.  Justin’s dad made waffles , just like he did when they were all younger  and everyone told stories.   There were lots of wonderful moments through out the day but those during that family time felt the most intimate.

Meghann & Will | St. Peter’s and The Lemont Wedding

This wedding has a bit of a personal history.  Meghann is the granddaughter of one of the most amazing women I’ve ever met.  Her name was Mary Jane.  I lived next door to her in Observatory Hill over 10 years ago.  She called her self the “Widow Berry.”  She was always positive, encouraging and simply fun to be around.  She passed a lot of her traits down to her grand children.  As you’ll see from the photos.   Meghann is the third granddaughter of Mary Jane’s I’ve photographed.   Meghann chose to be married in the same church Mary Jane and her husband were married in.  St. Peter’s on the North Side.  The reception was at The Lemont on Mt. Washington.  Thanks so much for letting me be a part of it all.
